BENETEAU

Beneteau S.A. is part of BENETEAU Group, established in 1885 and specialized in the construction of pleasure boats, luxury yachts and mobile homes. The company is continuing to develop its business on the powerboat market, and is one of the leading players in Europe. BEN is a company composed of 5840 people and with a turnover of 969 million euros for 2014. The research centre of Beneteau S.A. is made up of 100 engineers and technicians. The research of this centre is focused on three main areas: (1) Composite materials: structure sizing, choice of materials and development of industrial implementation processes, (2) Wood and interior fittings: industrialization of the implementation of interior fittings, development of new finishing and research on new materials for fittings, (3) Systems: electricity, plumbing, on-board comfort, development of engineering and design tools, such as the computer-aided design (CAD) software CATIA. Research and development represents one of the main priorities for the BENETEAU Group, which sets aside close to €20 million for this each year.

Role in the COROMA Project

Beneteau, as an end user, will work mainly in the Industrial application scenario description and on the experimental validation on naval sector. Beneteau also will help the rest of the partners in other areas which requires knowledge about the final application of the robot.
