This project is funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Programme under grant agreement no. 723853.

Gorka Herranz from Soraluce, machine tool manufacturer, leaders in milling and boring technology, was invited to a event organized by Mondragon Unibertsitatea as a speaker, where vocational training proffessionals were awarded. During the speech Gorka showed the evolution of his professional career and how he started working and acquiring experience and knowledge while he was studying.

This event was a great chance to disseminate COROMA’s experience about how the digitization affects the European industry and how robots are taking an important role  in the industry nowadays. One of the COROMA’s objectives is to contribute to the technological development of robotics in Europe, a key discipline for the progress of Industry 4.0. Robots are becoming part of the industry to improve the production, and this concept was explained to newly graduated students, showing many videos of Coroma Project.

Also COROMA project has several objectives, among which are the strengthening of the global position of European manufacturing industry and contributing to technological development in the manufacturing and robotics field:

  1. facilitate collaboration between robots and machinetools or non-cognitive robots.
  2. impact on the global market share of European robot manufacturers (currently 32%), by providing additional support
  3. boost the implementation of robotics in companies that specialized in the manufacture of metal and composite material components
